The Beatles Yesterday and Today LP – Butcher Cover, 2nd State – T 2553
Up for bid from 1966 is The Beatles Yesterday and Today LP with the “Butcher Coverâ€, 2nd state. This is the mono recording, T 2553. The condition of the cover is at least VG, some slight discoloration and ring wear, but the sides and spine have no splits. This cover has the “trunk†cover pasted over the “butcher†cover. You can actually see Ringo's “v-neck†under the cover, and if you look along the bottom of the cover, you can see a bit of the “butcher†cover sticking out.
The real bonus of this record, however, is the condition of the LP itself. In near mint condition, just a few surface scratches, and no wear on the rainbow label. I played this album before listing, and it sounds wonderful. Hardly any noise before the first track or between songs. Once the “trunk†cover is peeled, you will have a true classic.
Side one songs: Drive My Car, I'm Only Sleeping, Nowhere Man, Dr. Robert, Yesterday, and Act Naturally. Side two songs: And Your Bird Can Sing, If I Needed Someone, We Can Work It Out, What Goes On?, and Day Tripper.
As you know, all grading is subjective, so you will have to decide for yourself the condition of this LP, but I don't think you will be displeased with your purchase.
