The Beatles vinyl lp Please Please Me PMC1202 mono NM audio One EMI Box RARE!!

This is a 8th pressing and more details can be obtained here:-

http://thebeatles-collection.com/wordpress/2011/07/16/please-please-me-parlophone-pmc-1202-3/

These were pressed from November 1969 until 1970 and according to Record Collector it is thought that only a few hundred mono copies were made. Of course by 1970 the demand for mono lps was minimal which explains why so few were made and why now they are extremely difficult to find. In 1969 EMI had deleted all mono pressings from their new release catalogue leaving virtually all their lps available in stereo only. Most mono pressings of their lps had already ended around the time EMI / Parlophone decided to change their labels from the 1960s yellow and black label to the silver and black 'One EMI box' label. However there was a small stockpile of unused mono sleeves for this lp so EMI/ Parlophone briefly decided to continue mono production until all the sleeves were used up. As a result this is considered to be one of the rarest The Beatles lps and is extremely sought after.

This record has been cleaned and test played in full to be graded. Please contact me if you require any further details.

There are a handful of spindle marks on the labels and the previous owner named Tricia has written her name on to the label on Side 1. Thanks Trish! See photos. Excellent sound during the test play.

Garrod and Lofthouse laminated flipback sleeve is Very Good+. Some small creases on edges. 2cm of the flipback has been removed on the rear bottom right. See photo. Also Tricia has signed her name in pen on the rear. The inner is a new white paper inner.

Summary:- Ultra Rare black and silver mono copy with great audio.

Grading system used:-

Mint (M) The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.

Near Mint (NM) The record looks brand new with no scuffing or any deterioration in sound quality and only the smallest hint that its ever been played. The cover and any additional extras are clean, crisp and with no wear whatsoever.

Excellent (EX) The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and/or creasing.

Very Good (VG) The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good (G) The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.

Fair (F) The record is still just about playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and/or
defaced.

Poor (P) The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
