*Very rare 'Beatles vs The Four Seasons' LP*
On Oct. 1, 1964, Vee Jay packaged its Introducing the Beatles album together with The Golden Hits of the Four Seasons. It called the collection "The Beatles Vs. The Four Seasons." The front cover featured new drawings of the Beatles and the Four Seasons, plus listings of all the songs. The back cover featured a 'scorecard'. The album was issued with a poster which featured the drawings of the Beatles from the VJ 587 picture sleeve. Inside the sleeve includes a detailed account of each band member (one side being The Beatles, the other being The Four Seasons) and various facts about them with plenty of colour pictures of the two bands (see photos). This LP was only ever produced in the United States and is considered an incredibly rare collectible.
Purchased by my dad in New York, 1967 he has been the only owner of the LP, over 40 years after its original purchase. However, as can be expected over this length of time there has been slight damage to the outer sleeve (See below) but both records are still in perfect condition and still including 8x15 full colour Beatles poster.
Damage is mainly around the edges of the sleeve and corners as seen in photos, but this is largely just general wear and tear. Other damage is slight scratching on the edge of the back cover, and also a slight tear down the inside of the spine when opening the sleeve. Obviously with the age of this product there is some slight yellowing to the sleeve but this is still a worthy addition to any 60's fans collection.
A valued piece of memorobilia which will be sorely missed when sold.
