Description
The time has come for me to part with my 50 year old Beatles collection. This collection consists of LP's, 45's, picture sleeves, EP's, 12" singles, picture discs, sealed LP's, test pressings, acetates, promos, box sets, and CD's from the US and the UK. The collection also includes vinyl and CD's from John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, Ringo Starr, and Apple artists. There are numerous rarities in this collection. The vast majority of the vinyl is in NM- to NM condition; I tried not to acquire anything with a grade below that, or attempted to upgrade, although a few of the extremely hard to find items I was unable to upgrade and will have a grade below that. If you are a Beatles collector, be sure to bookmark me as the vinyl I'll be listing will surely be of interest. Here we go; a splendid time is guaranteed for all.
The Beatles-"The Original Greatest Hits" LP, Greatest Records, Inc. GRC-1001. This is the first unauthorized Beatles LP, released in April 1964, just two months after they arrived in America. Notice there is no mention of The Beatles on the LP or the cover, but it's definitely them. Supposedly the version of "Love Me Do" is the version with Ringo on drums, taken from the Canadian release as this version wasn't officially released in the U.S. until 1980 on the "Rarities" LP. Vinyl, VISUALLY graded by Goldmine standards, is in VG condition on side one and VG+ condition on side two; each side has a few light marks. Cover is in VG condition with general age wear, nothing severe, and there is a name on the back. No seam splits. This is a very hard to find Beatles LP.
