Originally released in 1971, Funky Nassau introduced the world to the infectious blend of Bahamian rhythms, American soul, and hard-driving funk that made The Beginning of the End international stars. The title track, "Funky Nassau (Pts. 1 & 2)," became a crossover hit and remains one of the defining recordings of the early funk era.
This 1990s reissue features the complete original album, including "Come Down," "Monkey Tamarind," and the landmark title track. Long prized by DJs, collectors, and fans of deep funk, Funky Nassau remains an essential recording whose influence can still be heard in generations of funk, hip-hop, and dance music that followed.
