GENESIS - THE BEST OF GENESIS (NORWAY CHARISMA, 9299 707, 1975)
This is probably one of the rarest Genesis compilations out there, picked up by me last week while I was in Norway (I have family there - and plus I saw The Stones in Oslo... not a bad week all in all). Funnily enough, this month there is an article in Record Collector, I believe it's the top 100 collectable Genesis albums, and this is in there, rated at £175. The main reason for it's collectability is the unique live shot on the cover (I can't actually see Gabriel in this photo...), and the fact that the compilation has an odd tracklisting (Supper's Ready, Wardrobe, single edit of Watcher Of The Skies, Harold The Barrell, Harlequin and The Fountain Of Salmacis - not in that order) makes it even more desirable. I have never seen one before and will probably never see another. Here's your chance to own one...
Vinyl is G+ : not worn as such, but has a few marks on both sides which causes the album to crackle - the Supper's Ready side is slightly worse than the other - but it does not jump on my deck and I have played through it all. I doubt you're after this to listen to anyway, are you?
Laminated sleeve is EX : lovely overall, looks great - no tears or creases, and this is the main reason this album is so collectable...
