Description
The Bird Curtis Quintet Vinyl Mono TPM LP 145 Signed Sleeve 100 Pressed
Here we have the eponymous vinyl LP The Bird Curtis Quintet, arguably one the rarest British modern jazz records ever made. This mono vinyl was issued in 1968 by Tony Pike records with apparently only 100 copies pressed. Even more unusually, the outer sleeve has been signed by all five members of the band (Ian Bird, John Curtis, Raymond Shea, Daryl Runswick and Tim Woolley). The vinyl itself (TPM LP 145) has the matrix codes TPM LP 144 stamped to Side 1 and TPM LP 145 stamped to Side 2 and is in fair condition with myriad light scratches and handling marks throughout, but nothing overtly serious. Similarly the outer sleeve is in fair condition with wrinkles, staining and creases to front and back, but structurally in one piece and the signatures remain clear in black ink. A genuinely uncommon jazz issue signed by the band (apparently the first copy on eBay sold for £720 back in 2011) which you're unlikely to come across again.
