- v. 1-2: Vinie Burrows - Walk Together Children; The Black Scene in Prose, Poetry, and Song (1969) - Read and sung by Burrows; Jim Gold on guitar.
- v. 3: Owen Dobson - The Dream Awake (1970) - An epic poem narrated and sung by James Earl Jones, Josephine Premice, Josh White, Jr., and others; incidental music by Lloyd McNeill performed by the Lloyd McNeill Quartet.
- v. 4: Langston Hughes reads and talks about his poems (1970) - Recorded in 1959.
- v. 5-6: Voices of Protest; The Black Man Speaks Up for His Rights - Volume I: 1661-1847, Volume II: 1852 to the present (1970) - Read by Damon Brazwell, Arthur French, Clarice Taylor, with contributions from Martin Luther King, Jr. and Estelle Rolle.
Condition:
- Vinyl Records: All in Very Good condition. Each record has been tested, and the sound quality is strong and clear.
- Box: Good condition. The box has been preserved but shows wear around the edges and clear tape on the right side. There is a water stain at the bottom on the back of the box, but the integrity of the box remains intact.
