The Byrds - Fifth Dimension
US Columbia label - 1971 repress XSM114239-3C / 4240 -3C
"Stereo CS 9349" (on front of jacket and spine)
The Byrds third album and the first not to feature Bob Dylan songs. This album is best known for three stand out tracks, Eight Miles High, Mr Spaceman and 5D which represented a creative leap forward, and partly instrumental in developing the musical styles of rock at the time. The album also saw the departure of Gene Clark. Despite its inconsistency, Fifth Dimension is today regarded as a highly influential, albeit transitional album that is musically more experimental than the band's previous recorded output.
Sleeve: US card sleeve clean no stains, no writing a few creases and mild ringwear, light edge scuffing and a 6cm split on top edge where it meets opening edge. Unfortunately these card sleeve don’t age well, although probably sounds worse than it is (see photos) graded VG
Labels: Light spindle marks, low usage, see photos VG+
Vinyl: Nice bright, vinyl retains its original sheen - no nasty scratches, or groove wear, a few light wispy hairlines and a couple of feint scuffs from sleeve removal only EX-
Audio: Nice clear sound, no hisses, hops, skips or sticks, pips, pops or crackle (played on a Pro-Ject carbon - blue ortofon) graded EX

I am a collector for 47+ years the few records I sell are either the results of upgrades, duplicates or a bit of thinning every now and again. I strictly adhere to the Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide using one + or - for addition guidance:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
