Experience a cornerstone of the New Wave movement with this 1979 first pressing of 'Candy-O' by The Cars. Following the massive success of their debut, this sophomore effort solidified the band's signature sound, blending Ric Ocasek's art-rock sensibilities with pop perfection. The iconic cover art, commissioned specifically for this release, features the legendary work of pin-up artist Alberto Vargas, making it a visually stunning addition to any vinyl collection. Produced by Roy Thomas Baker at Cherokee Studios, this 12-inch LP features high-fidelity stereo sound at 33 1/3 RPM. The tracklist is packed with hits and fan favorites including the chart-topping 'Let's Go,' the title track 'Candy-O,' and the infectious 'Double Life.' This particular pressing is on the red Elektra label (catalog number 5E-507), identifiable by the 'SP' suffix on the label indicating a Specialty Records Corporation pressing. It includes the original printed inner sleeve with lyrics and band photography.
