Description
A 1st pressing from 1979 on the UK CBS label. Matrix A4/B3/C2/D3. Etching "Track 5 is TRAIN IN VAIN" & TIMTOM/TY. London Calling was mastered by Tim Young. 1st issue copies had a 'technically' hidden final track. No mention of TRAIN IN VAIN can be found on the record cover or the labels. But there are five tracks on the final side as highlighted by the deadwax inscription. The Lp's comes housed in an original Shorewood Packaging printed cover. Please note only one of the original inner sleeves is present.
Vinyl (Ex+) In absolutely fantastic condition and has clearly only seen the lightest use. Just look at those lovely white labels with minimal wear and signs of use. Under close inspection we struggled to make out a single mark. A thorough testing from beginning to end reveals an EXCELLENT+ level of playback. Intros and inbetweens are silent and the audio comes across with superb clarity. Interference is totally absent. We didn't detect more than a couple of crackles [literally] the whole way through - now that is unusual.
Cover (Ex+) In great shape and has survived the years in particularly fine condition. Those bold colours on the front are just like it was printed yesterday. Handling wear is minimal - only the very lightest. Edge wear minimal too and the text on the spine is 100% intact. Overall the cover retains excellent rigidity and would be difficult to better.
Inner (Vg) There is only one original inner sleeve. There's no splits, but some ageing spots in the corners.
