Description
A True US First State Copy – Superior Audio Quality
Up for sale is a highly sought-after original 1980 US first pressing of London Calling. This isn't a standard reissue; this copy features the STERLING stamps in the dead wax, indicating it was mastered at Sterling Sound by the industry's best for maximum dynamic range.
Visual Identifiers:
• Dead Wax: Stamped "STERLING" on all sides. Side 1 etched: AL-36329.
• Labels: Side 4 label correctly omits "Train in Vain" (the hidden track).
• Cover: Back cover correctly ends the tracklist with "Revolution Rock."
Condition Grading:
• Vinyl (VG+): Both LPs are in beautiful shape with a high-gloss "wet" look. Under bright light, only a few very faint surface wisps are visible. No deep marks, scratches, or skips.
• Sleeve (VG): The jacket is structurally strong with a nice wide spine. Shows some typical light corner bumping and edge wear (see photos). Minimal ring wear and light age-toning. No seam splits.
• Inner Sleeves: Includes both original printed lyric inner sleeves. Both have small seam splits on the side from record penetration, but are otherwise very clean.
