Renowned composer and sound artist Francis Heery, under his alias The Cube of Unknowing, announces the release of his latest sonic expedition, ‘Bog Summoner’, via Library of the Occult. This immersive electronic album blends kosmische, motorik rhythms, and spectral atmospheres, drawing listeners deep into the mysterious heart of the Irish Midlands. A visionary in avant-garde music, Heery’s compositions have been performed by ensembles including the RTE Symphony Orchestra, Crash Ensemble, Quiet Music Ensemble, and Talujon Percussion Ensemble. With ‘Bog Summoner’, he channels his deep-rooted fascination with science fiction, occult mysticism, and bio-aesthetic philosophy into a record that pulsates with both history and otherworldly energy. Evolving organically during the recording process, ‘Bog Summoner’ became a sprawling, shape-shifting entity. Influences range from the live recordings of Harmonia to the cosmic explorations of Tangerine Dream’s ‘Phaedra’ and ‘Rubycon’, all while steeped in what Heery describes as ‘Bog Gothic’—an eerie evocation of East County Galway’s mist-laden bogs and buried histories. One key track, ‘Uí Máine’, takes its name from the medieval Irish clan that ruled the region. Heery was particularly intrigued by the 16th-century alchemist Edward Kelley’s claim to be a descendant of the Uí Máine, weaving an esoteric connection between occultism and the forgotten landscapes of rural Ireland. ‘Bog Summoner’ imagines Kelley’s spectral presence lingering in the bogs, appearing to seekers and outcasts, summoning spirits among ancient burial mounds. Adding another layer of inspiration, the album draws from Ithell Colquhoun’s evocative writings on Ireland, particularly ‘The Crying of the Wind’, reinforcing Heery’s exploration of landscape as a portal to the arcane. Neil Mason of Moonbuilding magazine describes ‘Bog Summoner’ as “a kosmische transmission from a distant realm, fed through a Berlin School conduit. Library Of The OccultPsilowave are ecstatic to welcome Library Of The Occult to our dark coven of represented labels. Library Of The Occult is a U.K.-based record label that offers soundtracks for late night incantations, world building, and mystical realms. Label owner Tom McDowell has been pushing the limits of dark synth and imagined soundtracks since he first began making music as Dream Division. He expects nothing less from his own record label. Since its introduction in the summer of 2020 we have seen new music from Dream Division, Ogre, and Timothy Fife that has delved into classic Gothic literature, occult themes, D&D, and contact with worlds beyond our own. Each release is a chapter in an ongoing tale of the beyond, curated for those that seek what's behind the veil. Every album is an artist locking into synth-heavy worlds, establishing all-encompassing musical narratives which share a common goal of atmosphere and dark escape. Library Of The Occult invites you to delve into their analog tales, spin their black circles, and follow along as they form a musical yarn for the ages.

Never played. No corner or edge dings, shrink-wrap is intact. All additional items such as inserts, lyric sheets and posters etc... will be perfect. Near Mint [NM] May have been played a couple of times but the record shows no signs of having ever been played. This is highest grade allowed for an opened, handled record. The vinyl is virtually flawless, bright and shiny. A very minor, barely visible scuff or two may be permitted, but no scratches. The disc should play with no audible noise. The label is bright, clean and unmarked. Sleeves will be near new condition. Virtually no wear to faces, edges or corners. Excellent [EX] Record surfaces are bright and clean but may have a few light paper scuffs or superficial surface marks that do not affect play. The record has obviously been played, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light blemish. Sleeve may have some very minor wear to faces, edges or corners of covers. Very Good [VG] A well cared for used record. Record surfaces may show some slight signs of wear and may have scuffs or light scratches. May have some very light surface noise or isolated crackles and pops. Labels may be marked lightly. Sleeve may have some ring wear, moderate wear to edges and corners, light creases or stress lines, and other minor defects. Good [G] Record shows visible signs of wear. Some surface noise may be audible. Groove wear may be noticeable, as will some scratches that may cause clicks or pops. Labels may be marked. Sleeve will have heavier ring wear, edge wear and corner damage and some discoloration. Fair [F] Likely to be lots of minor scratches and scuffs with surface noise audible. Potential label marks and damage. Sleeve will have noticeable edge and ring wear and feature some tears, marks and discolouration. Poor [P] Scratched, scuffed and generally well worn with surface noise audible. Sleeve will have heavy ring and edge wear and likely tears, marks and damage.
