Welcome to this very rare record auction THE DAMNED 7" SINGLE ACETATE. Please be assured that this item is 100% authentic, I have been trading and dealing in rare records for many years now so please feel free to check out my feedback and bid with confidence. As in my recent Sex Pistols acetate auction, I have done some research into the background of the item, and 95% percent sure it came from the collection of the late “Tommy Vance”. I bought it in 2006 from a record dealer, was told it came from the widow of a famous British DJ, born in Oxford and also who worked for the BBC. It was part of a job lot, and to be honest that’s all I can remember. I have since done some research and narrowed the search down to either “Vance” or another DJ who worked at BCC Radio Oxford, and had travelled to SA around the same time as the release. With a little extra research though I found this DJ still to be alive and kicking (so ruled him out). The record itself is in EX++ condition rare black MCA company sleeve, and EX++ condition record (played only once, and excellent sound), and probably one of the rarest Damned item’s in existence. For more details, see the pics bellow. In Company sleeve back appears a red stamp with the following text: NOT APPROVED - RETURN TO AUDIO DEPT - Probably it is a unreleased item, but not sure of all. Also on matrix and white sticker on label comes with the following code: EF-386/5 Black company sleeve original south african company sleeve (PROMOTED AND DISTRIBUTED BY GALLO (AFRICA) LTD I have not seen one copy of Damned South African Pressings before on eBay, and I have put NO RESERVE on this item as the market will reflect a fair price, so enjoy the auction and thanks for looking.
