Description
Released in 1966, this is one of the earliest US psychedelic LPs. This is an original Cameo Parkway label (SP-7051) stereo copy. This project was done by a group of beatniks who had come of age back in the 1950s. These same people did the Freak Scene LP on Columbia about a year later. This is one of the most fascinating 60s psychedelic LPs recorded at the time. Rumour has it that this was recorded in a pitch black studio in the early hours of the morning. This is a very nice copy overall. The cover is VG+ with light ring wear on the top and bottom of the front. There are a few creases on the cover and the lower corners are slightly dinged. There is a cut-out hole on the lower right corner. There is some light brown staining on the lower right of the back cover and also some light blotches of foxing on the back (see scans). There is light to moderate wear on the edges. The disc however, is very near mint. There are a few faint hairline scuffs on side two which can be seen under a strong light source but these do not affect play. Unlike many pressings on this label, This copy plays beautifully without pops and ticks and with only a bare minimum of surface noise. The reserve is reasonable for such a nice copy of such a scarce item. Thanks for looking.
