Description
THE DOG THAT BIT PEOPLE
Combining folky/pastoral prog & hard rock with exquisite vocal harmonies, tough guitar leads & a dose of Mellotron, this legendary album has become one of the rarest of the era.
The group was formed from the ashes of 'Locomotive' whose only Parlophone album has also achieved mythical status. EMI silently released this album in the Spring of 1971 with barely any promotion and it quickly sank without trace.
This prized album rarely comes up for sale, so don't let this chance of owning a highly respectable sounding copy pass you by.
This oriignal UK 1st pressing is on the 1-EMI box Parlophone label: PCS 7125
Matrix numbers: YAX 3738-1 & YAX 3739-1
Stamper code: 1/G & 1/R
Vinyl weight: 135g
Housed in a textured, tri-flipback 'Garrod & Lofthouse' printed cover, complete with original EMI advertising inner-sleeve.
CONDITION
Disc
Labels: EXCELLENT +
Both are clean & unworn with just a handful of light, well-aimed spindle trails around the side 2 centre hole only.
Visual: EXCELLENT
Both playing surface are extremely clean and retain all of their deep-gloss factory shine with just a handful of light surface marks on side 2, but nothing of any signficance. Closer inspection directly beneath my powerful halogen desk lamp reveals some harmless wispy paper hairlines consistent with inner-sleeve removal & a sparkling rainbow shine.
Sound Quality: EXCELLENT
This fantastic album has received a minimal amount of turntable-time and plays without any significant deterioration to the sound quality or any major faults. My single careful play-check detected a few light ticks on 'Sound of Thunder' and a hintof low-level vinyl background on some of the quieter passages but no evidence of any groove/play-wear or any jumps, repeats or other audible distractions.
Cover: GOOD
As you can see this cover is showing its age. Both front and rear panels have noticeable foxing and there is some missing paper towards the upper right corner of the rear panel from sticker removal. However, both seams are unstressed and the spine is intact and readable.
Inner-sleeve: VERY GOOD
Fully intact with age-toning the only issue
