Description
The Doors "The Doors" 1st LP
This is an original US vinyl pressing on Elektra EKL-4007 from 1967. This is a Mono copy of their first album. It comes in a Stereo cover that has a Mono sticker at top right. Elektra did this when they ran out of stereo covers, which were selling faster than mono copies. This is actually harder to find than a mono copy in a mono cover.
This album is one of the very best debut album by any Rock N Roll artist. Every song is great. And they still sound great today. Many of these songs still get played on the radio today, like : Break On Through, Soul Kitchen, The Crystal Ship, Back Door Man, and one of the greatest singles of all time : Light My Fire. It's a truly great album.
The group wrote nine of the songs. One song is a Weill-Brecht cover and one is a Willie Dixon cover. It was produced by Paul Rothchild. It was supervised by Jac Holzman. It was engineered by Bruce Botnick. Front cover photo is by Guy Webster. Back cover photo is by Joel Brodsky. Wow that's a lot of famous names !!
Overall Condition is : Cover is M- / Record is VG+
The cover is Mint minus with no ring wear, no writing , and no seam splits. There is slight greenish areas along the mouth that look like varations in the print quality from the factory. The bottom right corner is bumped. The Mono sticker is really a piece of paper stamped 'Mono' and stuck on the the record company. The vinyl looks near mint and it plays VG+. There are a few light handling marks on the vinyl, but no scratches. There is light static before the music starts and some minor static between a few songs. On the song 'The End' there are light crackles and light pops throughout, which are noticeable during the quiet parts. The vinyl is thick and unflexible. The labels are Gold and clean with no spindle marks. The record comes in a yellow Elektra inner sleeve.
The songs are : Break On Through, Soul Kitchen, The Crystal Ship, Twentieth Century Fox, Alabama Song, Light My Fire, Back Door Man, I Looked At You, End Of The Night, Take It As It Comes, and The End.

I take great care on every package and I do each one personally. I will package this record between two pieces of hand cut cardboard. Each piece is 1/2 inch thick, triple strength industrial cardboard. Together they are very strong and unbendable. The package will be marked in red : "Fragile Record" on both sides.
