Some time ago, in one of the threads on the Steve Hoffman Music Forum dedicated to this album I read with a surprise the posts of some members who expressed doubt concerning the existence of the uncensored copy of this album. I don't know how to comment on this because you could only state this when you've never listened to the uncensored version. I guarantee that when listening to "The End" track you'll hear Morrison's lyrics - "Doin' a blue rug, on a blue bus, doin' a, Come on, yeah F*ck, f*ck-ah, yeah, F*ck, f*ck, F*ck, f*ck, F*ck, f*ck, f*ck yeah..." I've had several uncensored copies and all of them were pressed at the Monarch pressing plant in Los Angeles. Perhaps, there're also the uncensored copies pressed at the other plants but I've never come across them. So, this is the Monarch pressing with a misprint label indicating "The Other Side" as "The Oher Side" on Side I. 1st print gold Elektra Records labels featuring "(Weill-Brecht) Witmark (ASCAP)" publishing credit on Side One label for Alabama Song (Whiskey Bar). The labels have the bold "Mono" banner which is present only on the Monarch pressing. The cover remains in the original shrink wrap with breathe holes and contains a white rectangular "MONO" sticker in the upper right-hand corner underneath it.

The release of The Doors coincided with the change in the Elektra Records office's address. It is surprising but the very early 1st pressings of this album were equipped with an inner sleeve containing Elektra's old "51 West 51st Street" address in New York, before the company changed it to the new "1855 Broadway" address. This copy comes with an inner sleeve containing Elektra's old address! The change involved not only the company's address in New York but also the one in London, UK. The new inner sleeves read "2 Dean Street" while the old ones had the "7 Poland Street" address. 1st Monarch, LA plant pressing having all of the plant's identifiers and containing the machine stamped MR in Circle along with the Delta number in the runout groove. Also, the vinyl was mastered by Ray Hagerty and contains his initials. The full matrix numbers are as follows: Side 1 - EKL-4007A (MON) MR in Circle Δ10046 Ray Hagerty's Signature / Side 2 - EKL-4007B (MON) MR in Circle Δ10046-X Ray Hagerty's Signature. The cover, inner sleeve and "67 Catalog Elektra" booklet are in Near Mint Minus condition. The vinyl is graded as Very Good Plus having some very light non-feelable hairlines and scuffs from the inner sleeve that don't affect the playback. The vinyl sounds great only having some light background noise which is most likely the static which will go away completely if the record is professionally cleaned with an VPI cleaning machine. The labels are in Excellent condition and would be Near Mint Minus if it wasn't due to a couple of light spindle marks.

On Jul-09-22 at 21:29:26 PDT, seller added the following information:

Most likely, when inspecting the vinyl initially I didn't have enough time to thoroughly play grade the vinyl, but upon carefully listening to it now, I have to add the additional details to the description, namely that the vinyl has a series of light pops in the beginning of Track 1 and at the end of Track 2 on Side 1, a series of light ticks in the beginning and end of Track 1 on Side 2 with "The End" track having some light background noise. Based on my experience, I'd like to note that these things might go away if the vinyl is professionally cleaned with a VPI machine.
