The Doors – Absolutely Live
Elektra EKS-9002 – Original 2LP Gatefold Pressing
Offered here is a nice original copy of Absolutely Live by The Doors on Elektra Records (EKS-9002). This classic 2LP live set features VG+ vinyl that plays beautifully, a clean gatefold cover with light overall wear, and original inner sleeves, making it a strong listening copy with solid collector appeal.
About the Release
Released in July 1970, Absolutely Live was the first live album issued by The Doors and captured the band during one of the strongest periods of their career. The album was assembled from performances recorded in several U.S. cities between 1969 and 1970 and was designed to present a powerful document of the band’s onstage sound. It includes extended performances, stage favorites, and the first full official release of “Celebration of the Lizard,” making it a key title in the Doors catalog.
For collectors, early Elektra pressings of Absolutely Live remain especially desirable because of the original gatefold presentation, period label variations, and complete 2LP format. Copies with original sleeves, clean vinyl, and identifiable early matrix details are always sought after, especially since this title was often heavily played. The gatefold format and live-era significance add to its long-term appeal for Doors collectors.
