Description
Here is your opportunity to own a beautiful pressing of An American Prayer. This album is the final album of The Doors and was put together using Jim Morrison's writings/poetry. The album was meant to pay homage to their friend and former front man. This album is the original white label radio station promotional pressing made in 1978. This is the highly sought after unedited edition. This particular LP has 5E-502 A4 PRCW F4 as the matrix number in the dead wax, on side one. Side two of the LP has 5E-502 B4 PRCW F4 etched on the dead wax. The dead wax also has a Mastered by Capitol on both sides of the dead wax. The vinyl is in Near Mint/Excellent condition. The LP has some very light and minor paper scuffs on each side. Side one also has two small hairline scratches. The blemishes are only cosmetic and quite hard to identify. The LP playback sound quality is Near Mint. The LP labels are in outstanding shape with only a few faint spindle marks. The white promo labels have the deep groove press which indicates a very first pressing. The LP cover is in Very Good Plus condition. The LP cover has very mild ring wear and light soiling on the front/back. It is not that uncommon to have a small amount of soiling on a white album covers such as this one. The front cover also has two promotional stickers on it. The Elektra Asylum promotional sticker and also the Caution sticker. The Caution sticker states that this album contains material that may not be suitable for broadcast. The seams/spine are all tight and intact. They all have a minor amount of wear. The spine is mostly legible, but faded on the top edge. All of the corners also have a small amount of rounding. The bottom two corners have some creasing. The front cover has some creasing on the bottom left side and the back of the cover has some creasing on the bottom left side as well. The gatefold is in great shape and shows very minimal signs of it's age. The original booklet is completely intact. This album has been professionally cleaned on a VPI 16.5 and will be shipped in a brand new white inner sleeve. The gatefold cover will be shipped in a brand new 3 mil poly sleeve. This album is ready for playing or storage. Please let me know if you have any questions. I do not ship outside of the United States. I can combine shipping for multiple auction wins.
