ITEM OVERVIEW: Up for auction is a highly collectible 1970 U.S. First Pressing of Morrison Hotel. This is the sought-after Monarch Pressing, widely considered by audiophiles to be the definitive-sounding version of this album due to its superior mastering and "hotter" mix.
This copy is 100% complete, including the rare original black "mirrored E" inner sleeve.
MATRIX / RUNOUT DETAILS: This is a confirmed early Monarch strike. The deadwax includes the "Delta" triangle symbol and the sequential job numbers assigned in early 1970:
• Side A: EKS-75007 A-1 MON \bm 14435
• Side B: EKS-75007 B-1 MON \bm 14435-X
CONDITION GRADING (Goldmine Standard):
• VINYL: VG+ (Very Good Plus) The vinyl retains a beautiful high gloss. Under bright light, there are some faint surface hairlines and light sleeve scuffs, but nothing deep or "feelable." It plays excellently with a clear, punchy sound and minimal surface noise.
• COVER: VG+ (Very Good Plus) Original heavy-stock textured gatefold jacket. The spine is firm and 100% legible. Minor shelf wear and light corner bumping consistent with age (see photos). No split seams, no writing, and no tape.
• INNER SLEEVE: VG+ Includes the original black "mirrored E" Elektra inner sleeve. It is remarkably well-preserved with no major splits or tears—a rare find for this title.
SHIPPING: The record will be removed from the jacket during transit to prevent seam splits and shipped in a professional-grade cardboard record mailer with bubble wrap/stiffeners.
