Hi! This listing is for an original Doors 1st LP. EKL-4007 Mono. True mono sound throughout!!! Both sides of the cover clearly say MONO and not STEREO like many out there (even if the LP is mono). The cover is in really nice shape with absolutely no splits or tears and perfectly solid spine. It does have some minor wear and tear so PLEASE check out the pictures provided as they show everything. The LP has been deep cleaned and play graded and both sides still have shine and luster. Side 1 is VG-. There are lots of hairline scratches and 2 minor feel-able scratches on tracks 2 and 5 which you can see in the pics. It still plays incredibly well with no skips at all and really decent sound throughout but with occasional pops. Side 2 is considerably better. Visually it's a solid VG but mostly plays VG+ and over half of it plays EXCELLENT with little to no noise or pops. A truly enjoyable listen and in it's very first release of mono sound. Not much surface noise at all on either side but some pops on side 1 as I said. LP does have a slight storage warp which is only even slightly noticeable when playing side 2 and it DOES NOT AFFECT PLAY at all on my turntable. Overall, very decent and certainly acceptable for a rare original mono LP. Also includes the original Elektra inner sleeve in good condition as well. AGAIN, please look at the pics. The close ups of the scratches are the WORST part and I've tried to show that. They tell more than I could say. ALL of the records I sell come with a brand new plain white inner sleeve (as well as the original inner if available) and a plastic outer sleeve.

Record grading is unique and everyone does it a little different. I try my best to grade conservatively and by goldmine standards. If you check out my feedback for the records I have sold, you will see that I've never had an unhappy buyer, ever. My goal is for you to be happy. If you aren't happy I will do whatever I can to fix it.

Record grading :

Mint (M):  Perfection, no flaws, defects, marks or otherwise indications of being handled or played. Any scuffs, hairline scratches or other marks disqualify discs from this category. I do not use this grade, as even the act of inserting the disc or removing it from the paper sleeve may cause scuff marks on the vinyl.

Near Mint (NM):  This is highest grade assigned to opened, handled records. The vinyl is near flawless, bright and shiny. A very minor, barely visible scuff or two may be permitted, but no scratches. The disc should play with no audible noise. The label is bright, clean and unmarked.

Excellent (EX):  Disc plays really nice, but may have minor paper scuffs or other marks that do not interfere with the sound quality. There can possibly be a few hairline scratches but nothing that affects play. Vinyl is bright and shiny.

Very Good Plus (VG+):  Some visible surface wear, very minor scratches and scuffs, but minimal impact on the sound quality. Vinyl will still have good luster; labels may have minor imperfections (small labels or minor writing, etc.) but otherwise clean.

Very Good (VG):  Vinyl will have noticeable scratches or scuffs that cause minor surface noise, but do not overpower the music. Vinyl may appear somewhat dull and grayish. Labels may have small tears, tape marks, larger writing, etc. but still easily legible. There may be wear or deformation of the spindle hole.

Good (G):  Well-played, dull, grayish vinyl with deeper scratches and wear causing distracting surface noise (hisses, pops, cracks and other nasties). Labels may be significantly defaced or damaged.  This is not the quality of record to purchase if you're going to be listening to the album and expecting quality sound.  A good record to fill a niche collection until something better can be found.
