Description
'Strange Days' was released in September of 1967 and was The Doors' 2nd studio album. It is a masterpiece. I would place it even above their 1st album (which was sensational) because of the striking maturity and complexity of the arrangements and the songs themselves. The overall sound of the album was better too; using an 8-track recorder as opposed to a more restrictive 4-track machine which was used to record their 1st album. For Morrison and The Doors, there would be some artistically brilliant moments here and there in the next 4 years that followed. However, the cohesiveness, creativity, and consistency found on this album would never be reached again.
The copy I am offering is a 1st U.S. pressing from 1967 ....among the earliest which made it onto store shelves.
Condition of Lp Jacket: Excellent.....colours are still rich and deep.....spine is strong with just a bit of wear, not much to fault here. Previous owner's name is discreetly written on the back below the Elektra logo.
Condition of Original Inner-Sleeve: Excellent.....this is the "glossy" version of the inner-sleeve....some creases are visible and a bit of fraying along the edges. No splits are noted. An audiophile calibre inner will be provided to house the precious record.
Condition of Record: Excellent.....both labels are incredibly clean and show no spindle marks at all. Record has decent weight....visually there is nothing more than a few harmless, wispy hairlines. I am certain this record was only played a handful of times at most since 1967. Though there is a touch of background noise here and there (and this is almost unavoidable for a record of this vintage) it did not interfere with the amazing 1st press audio.....a very nice copy.
