Description
An absolutely stunning 2-Lp compilation released by The Doors in January of 1972 (8E-6001) which presents the band in a slightly different light. This was the 2nd compilation The Doors released ('13' was the first one) but unlike their previous one, the song selection reflected what the "core" or essence of their music was all about. Even if one has all their studio albums, I find 'Weird Scenes...' essential if only because of the superbly chosen running order of the songs. The extraordinary cover painting by Bill Hoffman is the icing on the cake.
Gatefold Cover: Near Mint-.....only very minor corner and edge wear. The person in charge of making the "promo" hole punch on the cover messed up and instead just nicked the top right edge (see photo). Red Elektra Promo and Amber Hype Stickers on front.
Original Inner-Sleeves: Near Mint-
Records: Near Mint-......visually all 4 sides look nearly perfect....both records play superbly. A tiny, almost invisible scratch at the very end of 'Riders On The Storm' elicits a few ticks but not enough to lower the grade.
