Legendary songwriters Leiber & Stoller were behind many of the group’s big hits, and Ben E. King (“Stand By Me”) was their vocalist from (1959-1960). They also provided us with two of the finest “up and under” songs: “Up On the Roof” (Goffin/King) and “Under the Boardwalk” (Young/Resnick).
