Description
Just recently I bought a massive collection of 60's and 70's LPs...some are in surprisingly immaculate condition, and some are not, but the original owner (a well-respected Australian vinyl hoarder) was a fastidious collector of the styles he loved - 60's beat/punk/garage, British invasion well-knowns [Beatles/Hollies/Dave Clark 5/Gerry & The Pacemakers/Zombies/Troggs/Rolling Stones, etc..], 70's West Coast sounds, pop-psych and he'd obviously forraged far and wide since there's a flurry of unique South American, New Zealand,Taiwanese, South African, Japanese releases amongst them all.
Here then, is one of the LPs from his collection:
"VIGIL"…fifth LP…New Zealand pressing…original first press…1968…STEREO!…Parlophone…black and yellow labels…(PCSM-6062)…flipback cover, with white border/framing…only stereo catalogue number on cover (but I’ve never seen an NZ mono copy – it might not exist)…condition: [cover first, then record]: VG+[+] / VG…14 tracks, 11 are originals...different track-listing to Aussie pressing…different back cover too…part beat, part garage, part psych = brilliant!!!…(small sticker stain + stamped letter 'E' + tiny bit of writing - all on back cover in top right corner - see pix...also has long scuff mark on Side One vinyl, but it does NOT affect play)...
