READ THIS! These records are NOT sold for perfect sound quality. They’re sold for their scarcity and VISUAL grading. They’ve been in storage for a decade, and they WILL play with surface noise that can be addressed with D4 or a VPI cleaning.  I can’t test-play at the minute. The Early Beatles LP STEREO CONSIGNMENT Decca 1965 First Pressing, EX!

Selling a couple of my STEREO first pressing consignment Beatles albums this week.  MONO first pressing consignments are all over the place.  But collectors know that STEREO consignments were pressed in extremely limited quantity, due to the expense of pressing stereo discs in the early 1960’s, when MONO was the dominant format more affordable to teenagers.

This copy is pressed by Decca Records.  The concentric ring is very close in to the playhole, and the labels are flat against the vinyl.  Also, the plate numbers in the dead wax have the extra letter that Decca had assigned to their job numbers missing from the Capitol pressings.

This copy is pretty nice.

Vinyl--- Strong VG++, almost EX.  Both sides shine about 95% brand new.  Their only problems are that each side has manufacturer’s marks that look like cloudiness in the playing surfaces.  They’re not feelable with the fingertip.

Plates--- W3P/W3P.  No Capitol plant insignias are present.

Cover--- VG.  Front cover looks very nice.  Back cover has light yellowing, particularly around the periphery.  Light record outdent.  The problem for this cover is that the top seam has a few inches of splitting nearer the spine.

Labels--- NM/NM.  Both labels look 1965-brand new.  NO SPINDLE MARKS.

Capitol Inner Sleeve--- VG. Original olive green Capitol company sleeve is present.  Sleeve presents EX, but the bottom has a center seam split, just over one inch long.

A generic inner sleeve will be provided, so as not to damage your original Capitol inner sleeve en route.

RIAA: None

As these records have been in storage for many years, they will play back with crackling and tics, however; a good moisturizing and cleaning with either D4 Discwasher or a VPI machine always clears them up.  Thanks!)

(Please note:  Regarding play-testing, my Technics turntable has somehow seized.  The tone arm is stuck in the up position, and I can’t get it to fully return to its cradle.  Is there anyone out there, who can tell me if this is an easy fix?  Thanks!)
