The Feelies are an American rock band from Haledon, New Jersey. They formed in 1976 and disbanded in 1992 having released four albums. The band reunited in 2008, and released new albums in 2011 and 2017.
Although not commercially successful, the Feelies had an influence on the development of American indie rock. Their first album, Crazy Rhythms (Stiff Records, 1980) was cited by R.E.M. as influencing their sound. The Feelies were influenced by The Beatles, the Velvet Underground and Lou Reed.
The Feelies rarely worked with outside producers, although Peter Buck of R.E.M. co-produced their second album The Good Earth, one of their most successful albums.
Condition Report
The Vinyl is described as VG+ to Excellent... not Excellent but better than VG+. During today's play-test it easily played to excellent, average background & no skips or stops... Tracks A! & B1 had above average background during their respective run-ins... disappears once the music starts!! Several spindle marks to both labels. There are a reasonable number of fine hairlines & sleeve marks to both sides of the record, none of which are feelable. The Vinyl has retained a nice waxy lustre.
The Cover is described as Excellent. There is some visible edge/spine & corner-wear. There are some fine cracks to spine & edges with associated wrinkles. There is some minor ring wear to front & verso. There are some colour losses to edges & spine, as well as top right hand corner fading front cover. Some small areas of foxing to cover... very minor. No seam splits. Couple of minor stains here & there.
The Inner Protective Sleeve is the original colour coded version...... VG+/EX with incredibly fine seam split to bottom and some minor background foxing.
