A first issue demo with Christmas Time Is Here Again as the B-side, rather than the re-issued How Can You Tell Me.
I purchased this a few months ago in San Diego so it doesn't have an export drill hole spoiling it. As soon as I saw the condition of it in the shop, I had to have it. It wasn't cheap. I think he heard my accent and the dollar sign started flashing in his eyes. Never buy anything that doesn't have a price label on it!
When I got back home and played it, I was floored by the sound quality. It is truly stunning - to my picky ears, as good as the day it was pressed. I have a couple of copies of this song and they don't come close. I decided it was too good to play again. 4 months later, I'm thinking what is the point of keeping it?
Visually, there are some light marks when you hold it under strong but none of these sound at all during playback - all you get is the usual run in surface noise then no clicks, pops, crackle or fuzz during the track. The high-end just sparkles.
The original Deram sleeve is in superb unmarked condition - ditto the labels - it's pressed bang on-centre and I'm confident there's no better sounding copy currently for sale anywhere. It's 50 years old!
