The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan
Original 1963 US Pressing - Mono Description of Item:
Bob Dylan's 1963 classic "The Freewheelin' Bob Dylan".
Mono version pressed on heavy wax.
Columbia Records catalog # 1986.
This copy has all of the indicators of the 1963 first pressing (not including the ridiculously rare recalled version with different songs): "Guaranteed High Fidelity" printed in lower left corner of front cover and on both labels, "2 eye" Columbia label, both labels are marked "nonbreakable", the letter "A" printed on the lower right corner of the back cover, stereo/mono catalog numbers printed on upper right corner of back cover and matrix readings of XLP-58717-3A / XLP-58718-2A.
Visually we would grade the vinyl at a VG. Overall it's in nice shape and very clean, but there are a few scratches, including two "feelers". However, we play graded it and it plays at an overall VG+ level....some songs even sound EX on our Dual turntable that we use for testing. Wax is super clean. Label is in good shape with minimal spindle marks.
Sleeve is in beautiful NM condition. It is still in its original shrink wrap. In the lower right corner, there is one small piece of shrink missing...about a half inch or so. Otherwise the shrink is all in place with no tears or holes. The sleeve has been well protected in the shrink...we can't see any wear through the plastic. There is a little bit of adhesive left over from an old price tag on the back side of the sleeve.
This record is truly a piece of American history. These original pressings are getting harder and harder to find!
