An excellent copy The Future Sound of London's 1991 Debut album.
This is much much more than just Papua New Guinea.
The whole album is brilliant from start to finish and had as profound an effect on
electronic dance music as the Pistols' 'Never mind the bollocks' did for punk.
A true classic.
The condition of the playing surfaces is superb. (Please see more details bellow).
Both sides are beautifully glossy, dust and fingerprint free.
A Side Near Mint, no marks or scratches of any kind, not even extremely fine superficial ones.
B Side Also exceptionally clean with a couple of notable exceptions. There are three scuffs/scratches.
One in the middle of 'Papua New Guinea', one intermittently through 'Moscow', '1 in8' and the start of 'Pulse state'.
And the last, during the first half of 'Pulse State.
These are all not thin sharp scratches, but rather wide scuffs. They look like they could have been made by the
rounded tip of my deck's spindle.
I have play tested the B side and while the marks are quite obvious to the eye they have no effect on the sound
quality or the playability of the record what so ever.
Outer sleeve is in very very good condition. Corners are all sharp and undamaged and the spine is perfect.
Update: Unfortunately I ripped the cover after I photographed it... idiot, I know. So there is now
a 6cm rip in the front cover that doesn't appear on the listing images. It is about 10cm up from
the bottom on the open side of the cover.
This is a clean rip and nothing is missing of the cover. I haven't tried to conceal this or repair it.
If you would like to it repair, it would be easy to do with a little patch on the inside of the sleeve,
then it would just look like a slightly jagged very thin white line.
My very low starting price for a first pressing of such an awesome album, now reflects this cover damage.
Unless otherwise stated every record was purchased by myself from new and only ever played
by myself on my own deck and with as expensive a cartridge as I could afford at the time.
When it comes to attributing a grading to each of my records I will confess I am not an expert.
And while both the Goldmine standard and The Record Collectors systems give us a number of agreed fundamentals
to help determine a grading for vinyl and its associated media, attributing a true and accurate grading to something as
individual as a pre-owned piece of Vinyl is unavoidably subjective.
One person's 'slight scuff' may be another's deal breaker.
With this in mind I will endeavour to describe as accurately as possible, in the descriptions of each listing,
not only what I feel to be a fair grading, but also an overall description of the record in question, along with details
of any and all marks, defects and anomalies I can see.
I am a firm believer in the maxim of - if you can feel it you can hear it.
So if there is anything that looks or feels like it may possibly affect a record's playing quality or sound clarity,
and therefore the pleasure derived from listening to it or its true value to an collector, I will give it one final spin
and make my findings known in the product description.
Over and above this I am happy to take returns.
I personally wouldn't bid on a pre-owned record without the option to return it if I felt that the seller hadn't been
totally truthful and transparent in their description of it, or that on receipt it didn't live up to my expectations.
And I do not expect you to do so either.
So please, feel free to bid with confidence.
I am a professional photographer by trade, and have gone to great lengths to light and photograph covers, inner sleeves
and the vinyl's themselves in such a way as to show, as accurately as possible, the actual condition of all.
Rest assured that what you see is exactly what will be despatched to you if you are the successful winner of each listing.
Before photographing each record went through a three stage cleaning process:
1 - Removal of any surface dust with a light brushing over with a carbon fibre and velvet disc cleaning pad
2 - Deep cleaning with large (Big Fudge) velvet pad and cleaning solution
3 - A final brushing with a Pro-Ject carbon fibre record brush.
And finally, because Mr or Mrs Poasty may not handle your record with the same care and reverence that you or I would,
I will dispatch in a specialised corrugated cardboard record mailing outer, and if I feel even more protection is required
I will also include two extra sheets of 3mm corrugated cardboard for added safety and protection.
