Description
The Go-betweens 16 Lovers Lane LP 1988. Beggars Banquet.
Cleaned and play tested today.
This is a highly sought after first press of this beloved album that has never been repressed. It is etched accordingly -
Side one BEGA 95- A1
Side two BEGA 95- B1
Also has the DAMONT & TOWNHOUSE etchings.
The record is all but perfect or NM and it sounds as good as it did when I bought it on release. Vinyl IS clean on examination and labels near perfect.
The original inner sleeve is near perfect with slight ring marking from storage.
The outer sleeve is almost fully still in the shrink wrap and all seams and corners are near perfect. At the upper open front side there’s slight peeling of the cardboard (see photos) It’s mild and small. Some peeling inside. The sleeve however remains intact and otherwise it’s near perfect.
This album is from my collection which I’m sadly downsizing. Other than today it hasn’t been played in over 20 years as I bought it ON CD too. I was lucky enough to see them live in Glasgow at the QMU many times during the late 80’s. They were brilliant. They frequently reference the city in their songs. Most notably the infamous Clarke sisters from Tallulah. Sadly they really don’t make bands like this now but The go-betweens’ influence can be found in many of today’s jangly guitar bands.
I don’t do auctions just what I think is a fair price for this most sought after gem of a record.
If you buy this today you won’t regret it.
