Excellent vintage copy of The Hangmen – Bitter Sweet, released in 1967 on Monument Records. This is the MONO MLP 8077 issue and includes the original Monument Records advertising inner sleeve.
The Hangmen were one of the most notable bands to emerge from the Washington, D.C./Maryland garage-rock scene of the mid-1960s. Formed in Rockville, Maryland, the group developed a huge regional following before recording Bitter Sweet for Monument.

DC GARAGE ROCK HISTORY: The Hangmen formed in Rockville, Maryland and became one of the Washington area's most popular garage bands. Their regional hit "What a Girl Can't Do" became a major local success, and the band shared bills with major 1960s acts including the Animals, the Yardbirds and the Dave Clark Five.
Bitter Sweet captures the band as its sound was expanding beyond straight garage rock into the more eclectic and psychedelic sounds emerging in 1967. The album closes with their take on the garage-rock classic "Gloria."
