Description
This mega rare Hollies album was recorded in 1973 with Swedish singer Mikael Rickfors replacing original Hollies front man Allan Clarke, who at the time briefly left the group to pursue a solo career. The album was cancelled for release at the last moment when Allan Clarke decided to return to the group. The LP accidentally was released in Germany and Spain only in tiny quantities. It's a superb album, very similar to their previous LP Romany. It has remained unreleased officially in its original form.
The sleeve is Near Mint. It's as good as you're ever going to find. It's got four perfect corners, NO seam splits, NO writing and NO tears. The laminate has a nice crackle to it as you open out the gatefold, showing that it's rarely seen the light of day! There's just a TINY bit of laminate lift at the top of the sleeve if I'm being picky. Definitely a final upgrade cover.
The lovely thick vinyl is a strong Excellent + and plays perfectly. The only thing stopping me from grading it Near Mint is the slightest hint of background static at the start of the LP and extremely light and non-audible surface marks, only visible under very close scrutiny. The labels are nearly perfect with just a single trace of spindle wear.
Make no mistake, this plays brilliantly and is the only way to hear this incredible album! This is definitely one of the best copies out there. I personally imported it from Germany many years ago and it's always been stored in a plastic sleeve with the LP stored behind the cover in an anti-static sleeve.
All items graded in line with record collector guidelines. I'm a collector, not a dealer. Just clearing out the duplicates in my collection as I've upgraded copies over the years.
