Description

ORIGINAL BLUE NOTE MONO VINYL from the 1500 series!
Up for auction is an early MONO PRESSING of Horace Silver's hard bop classic, Further Explorations (Blue Note BLP 1589). Plastylite 'ear' P symbol and 'RVG' stamp are both present in the runout deadwax, with 47 West 63rd - NYC labels. The audio is superb, punchy and clear. I have fully play-tested the vinyl, so my grading is based on how the record actually sounds, as well as how it looks.
Vinyl has Plastylite 'ear' indicating an original Blue Note pressing, 47 West 63rd - NYC labels, and 'RVG' stamp. The label details indicate an early pressing, potentially between 1960-62 (see Discogs reference for more details - you can see the labels themselves in the photos section). The vinyl is strictly graded in Very Good condition according to the Goldmine Grading Guide, due to (1) a series of clicks towards the end of side 1 track 1 and the start of track 2, and (2) multiple other cosmetic marks on the vinyl (which are visible in the photo section) - although as expected from these robust 1500 series pressings, most of these marks play much better than they look, and if you can live with the clicks I referenced then you may have yourself a bargain as the rest of the record plays closer to strong VG+.
The laminated, dimpled cover is strictly graded in VG+ condition, due to some slight fraying at the top & bottom of the opening, small dings on the other corners, and a small crease in the lower right corner (which may have had some tape put over it judging by the mark in the back lower corner), but otherwise is in very solid structural condition (and the front cover picture is in fabulous condition!).
Inner: blank modern non-BN - I have supplied this for completeness in addition to the audiophile sleeve in which I pack LPs.

Note that I separate the vinyl from the outer sleeve for postage to prevent seam splits. I use thick cardboard stiffeners and take great care in my packaging to ensure as far as possible that these records reach their destination in exactly the same condition as when they leave me, and in the way I'd like to receive them.

All items are play-tested throughout, and I strive to be comprehensive and fair in grading descriptions. If you require any further information, including photos, then let me know and I'll do my best to help.
