Up for sale is a very clean copy of The Horace Silver Quintet ?– Horace-Scope on Blue Note Records. Believed to be a 1st pressing. The 1st original MONO issue has:
- blue and white deep groove Blue Note Records INC - 47 West 63rd - NYC labels (with Inc and ®) - RVG stamped in the dead wax, both sides - P, wrongly called "ear" for Plastylite plant, etched in the dead wax, both sides - 43 West 61st Street, New York 23, N.Y. address on back-cover - front laminated cover - printed spine
Vinyl is (visual) M-/VG++. Hairlines, scuffs. Retains much gloss.
Cover is M-/VG++, very light wear. All seams intact. Back cover has some creases, seems like a manufacturing defect in how it was pasted on. Bottom right corner creased a bit. Some wear to labels. (see photos for details). Original plain paper inner sleeve is still in nice shape (not pictured).
VPI cleaned.
I play-graded this one.
Side 1: Plays and sounds great. Minimal surface noise and some very light clicks/ticks in some quiet sections. There are also quiet sections with no audible clicks/ticking. No loud pops or clicks.

Overall one of the better sounding records from this collection that I've listened to.
From a collection I recently purchased from an 83-year old record collector. His record shelves had plexi-glass doors in front of them which explains the amazing condition of the sleeves.
