Description
This is a rare 1966 1st UK mono pressing of the debut eponymous album ‘The Incredible String band’ on the green and white Elektra label.
A highly desirable and influential album, the group famously spanned the gap between psychedelic rock and folk. Dylan stated that the album’s ‘October song’ was one of his favourites of the period, and in 1966 that’s saying something.
This copy has a clean face and minorly bashed corners, with the plasticised covering of the flapback edges starting to show; plus what appears to be a sticker-edge mark on the top right-rear. Apart from some discolouration to the flipback rear-edges (where the plasticised outer layer is discoloured) the sleeve is in visibly acceptable condition, see pictures provided.
The record is in the original poly-inner and while not play-graded at this stage is a solid VG+, with minor sleeve-removal scrapes, marks and scratches but nothing that appears to be in a serious enough state to affect audio fidelity. The labels are near spotless with very minor marks.
Please bear in mind I take our pictures under very strong light to aid transparency, sleeves/labels are not discoloured unless stated and scratches/marks WILL appear worse than when handled.
