JIMI HENDRIX arrived in Britain in 1966 and immediately BLEW THE MINDS of everyone who saw him!
Eric Clapton got shock in a jam with Cream.
Jimi often featured at jams in London, as the top exponent of electric guitar blues - the absolute high bar of guitar brilliance!
Chas Chandler quickly got him a band, arranged gigs in France and England, and a first single and album soon saw release.
Jimi was so lit up with enthusiasm and ideas he didn't wait long before following up 'Are You Experienced' with this astounding leap forward; ''AXIS: BOLD AS LOVE".
As legend has it, he lost the tape for one side at a party after leaving the recording studio - having to re-mix the whole side again. He was trying for new sound techniques with the Stereo medium, and a proof that he was onto something can be heard in the swirling 3D effect of the intro.
It's compelling listening from there on, with headphones is a spatial sound with the depth of the room apparent.
Some lovely songs and guitarwork too, and it's a special album by any standards.
The excellence is of a standard that few have even got close to, and top players hold him in the highest esteem.
CONDITION;
The solid flat vinyl plays EXCELLENT, though a couple of small scuff marks exist, visually VG++
This has lovely UK vinyl quality, so plays and sounds WONDERFUL throughout.
Matt black with Silver text TRACK Lables are EXCELLENT+, bright clean with no stickers or writing. Superb.
The GATEFOLD SLEEVE is VG++ and shows little handling wear. Nice flat, solid with bright colours.
(No lyrics sheet, that was only featured with some early mono copies)
