The Jam regrouped and refocused for All Mod Cons, an album that marked a great leap in songwriting maturity and sense of purpose. For the first time, Paul Weller built, rather than fell back, upon his influences, carving a distinct voice all his own; he employed a story-style narrative with invented characters and vivid British imagery à la Ray Davies to make incisive social commentary -- all in a musically irresistible package. The youthful perspective and impassioned delivery on All Mod Cons first earned Weller the "voice of a generation" tag, and it certainly captures a moment in time, but really, the feelings and sentiments expressed on the album just as easily speak to any future generation of young people. Terms like "classic" are often bandied about, but in the case of All Mod Cons, it is certainly deserved.

• In the US, we ship via First Class, Media Mail, or Priority -- your choice.
• Outside the US, we ship via First Class or Priority -- your choice. Priority is much more expensive, but it's safer and trackable.
• We'll combine shipping costs on multiple wins (or store purchases) to save money for the buyer.
• We are professionals and pack with extreme care: you can trust us. However, we know some customers may have specific requirements for how their items are to be packed. Please confirm any such packing requests with us before bidding to be sure we can accomodate you.

• Massachusetts residents must pay sales tax because we are a Massachusetts business.
• We accept PayPal and credit cards by phone (Visa, Mastercard and Discover only).
• We're sorry, but we cannot accept personal checks as payment.
• Winners, please contact us within four days. You have three weeks to pay, but we start to get all worried if you don't let us know your intentions sooner than that (example: "Hi Planet Records, I'll pay next Thursday!"). If we don't receive payment from someone within three weeks and they haven't communicated with us, we will report them as a non-paying bidder.

• Due to the mail theft epidemic in the Italian post office system, we no longer normally ship to addresses in Italy. Exceptions can be made for buyers willing to pay for Priority Mail, which is safer but much more expensive than First Class. Priority Mail can also be tracked. Italian customers, please contact us if you are still interested and we will provide a shipping quote and authorize bidding.

Looking for more? In addition to our weekly auctions, we maintain a fixed-price inventory in our eBay store, not to mention on Amazon, both under the name zzy49. In addition we have a completely seperate inventory in our actual store; you are welcome to call us if you're looking for something. Our own website is Planet-Records.com (no external links allowed on eBay -- you'll have to cut and paste that) and you may appreciate knowing that we are a bona fide independent brick-and-mortar record store operating for nearly thirty years. Locals can feel free to pick up their items at the store. And non-locals, note: we are happy to combine shipping to save you money!
