TITLE: The Jazz Scene Signed and numbered by Norman Granz #19 of 5000
ARTIST: Various
LABEL: Mercury Records
YEAR: 1949
CONDITION: All 6 Records Appear to have never been played VG+ to NM some small superficial marks perhaps due to being removed from envelope sleeve. Cover is intact with no damage and minimal wear for being 64 years old. Pages and pictures are all intact and in great condition, no rips or tears or folds. Minor discoloration on the back of a couple pages of paper not affecting any pictures or text.
NOTES: I recently purchased a small collection of Jazz records from a woman here in the bay area, who recently lost her husband. Her husband apparently was a classical composer as well as a jazz enthusiast and had only held on to a small batch of Jazz records and memoirs that he was very fond of. One of these is this Jazz scene 78 set. He apparently worked closely with Granz for a few years after this set was released and was given this as a gift from Norman Granz himself.  This makes sense considering the extremely low catalog number!! I have done much research and talked to many collectors and strongly believe this to be the lowest number ever offered to the public! A mid #30's number went to auction a few years back with many signatures fetching a good sum of money!
