Description
Up for auction is a vintage European pressing purchased in London in 1985 of the seminal debut album by The Jesus and Mary Chain, Psychocandy.
This specific copy was pressed at the renowned Record Service Alsdorf plant in Germany. While the original 1985 UK pressings are known for their grit, these German Alsdorf pressings are highly sought after by audiophiles for their superior vinyl quality and lower noise floor—essential for hearing the melodic brilliance buried beneath the feedback.
Item was purchased new and has remained in my personal collection unplayed for 40 years. The vinyl itself is pristine; it was placed in a protective poly-sleeve years ago, though the original paper sleeve is also included. Please note there are a few minor stress marks on the outer sleeve (as shown in the images).
