Produced by Chas Chandler.
Engineer: Eddie Kramer assisted by George Chkiantz, Andy Johns and Terry Brown
Recorded at Olympic Studios London. (Where George Chkiantz must have been on the staff as he pops up on various Led Zeppelin sessions and the underrated B.B. Blunder album “Worker's Playtime”.)
Second album from The Jimi Hendrix Experience. Released in December 1967 and getting to Number 5 in the British Charts.
The gatefold sleeve is in excellent condition*. There is a small amount of wear top and bottom of the spine and a slightly soft feel to the opening where thumb and forefinger would have gripped the inner sleeve to withdraw the record. The laminate is complete, no names, Biro marks or sticky bits where a price tag might have been.
I've included separate photos of the outer and inner sleeve. There is no mark on the inner sleeve, that's just light reflecting on the laminate folder over from the outside. ( Bottom left of the black and white photo by Donald Silverstein.)
The record itself is in very good condition*.
Under electric light you can see a few marks on the surface. Conpicuous but, to my ears, these seem to have no impact on the sound quality which is excellent. I've just played the recording again and can detect a tiny click during the talking part of EXP. Once the guitar comes in we're away. A sound undiminished by the passing years. It's a loud record, I had to reduce the recording setting on “Audacity” to stop it clipping.
I put this copy, in the paper sleeve, on my scales and it weighed in at 174g. Selecting another, The Albion Band – The Prospect Before Us in case you are interested, that was 140g.
You should check out the quality on the attached eCommerce Player. (In fact my request/demand is that you listen before placing any bid.) You would know it was vinyl but I guess that's what you are seeking.
(This album recorded on my Linn turntable using “Audacity”, exported as 320 kbps MP3 files and uploaded into eCommerce Player. No editing whatsoever and with the lead in and lead outs as they happened. Ecommerce Player has a sliding volume control at the bottom of the window)
The plain paper inner sleeve is in excellent condition. Slightly yellowed though.
There is no poster with this copy.
Apologies for any “typos” and my Cavalier use of upper and lower case text.
I am sure you will be satisfied with your copy of “Axis Bold As Love”, but should there be any issues with incorrect listing or quality, please contact me via e-mail before leaving negative feedback. If you still feel the description to be misleading, I will be happy to organise a refund, not including postage and packing, on its safe return to me.
* As per Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide reproduced below.
Record will be send using a “Music Omax” cruciform mailer with a slab of cardboard included. I reckon this to be a step up from a mailer with a stiffener insert. The album will be placed between the gatefold sleeve and the cardboard slab.

Record Collector Magazine's Grading Guide:
MINT: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition. Records advertised as Sealed or Unplayed should be Mint.
EXCELLENT: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening in sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.
VERY GOOD: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.
GOOD: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration, etc.
FAIR: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise; it may even jump. The cover and contents will be torn, stained and / or defaced.
POOR: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise, etc. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.
BAD: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
