Description
- Iconic 1964 debut album from mod pop pioneers The Kinks on Pye, this is a classic case of a piece of Sixties vinyl delivering far more than looks would suggest. This is a UK mono early pressing.
- The front laminated flipback sleeve has some laminate wrinkle, corner wear, spine creases and a couple of carefully repaired seam splits to the top and bottom edge. However the back cover is clean and tidy compared to many I've seen so I'd grade it VG to VG+ overall. Clearly readable spine.
- The vinyl has lots of hairlines, scuffs and marks so only grades Good to Good+ at best from a visual point of view, but Sixties heavyweight vinyl is often very forgiving and that's the case here as it plays through fine and surface noise is only noticeable between tracks and on the run-in and run-out. A loud, punchy, enjoyable listen so audio definitely VG to VG+.
- Poly lined inner sleeve in VG+ order.
- Pink Pye labels have some spindle wear and a 'J' on Side 1, otherwise VG++
Good playing copy, starting at just 99p. Original Kinks albums on Pye are getting expensive – this could be nice pre-Christmas bargain.
