The Kinks – The Village Green Preservation Society LP Castle Comms ORRLP005 Ltd Ed
This is the remastered edition from 1997, presented in a superb package that includes a bonus 7” single, inner text sheet, OBI strip and glossy gatefold cover. The Limited Edition number is 4152. I have owned the album from new and it has only been played a few times.
CONDITION I use the RC grading categories and have play graded the vinyl on a Linn LP12. I have been using high end turntables for over 30 years. My records have been stored in a pet free, smoke free home.
Sleeve: Near Mint The album has been stored in a sturdy plastic outer sleeve and the cover is in as new condition. The glossy cover retains its sheen and has a great period photo of the band on the inside of the gatefold. There is no wear to the spine, edges or corners, and no tears, splits, writing or stains to either the cover, OBI or inner sheet.
Vinyl: Very Good The record has had very little play but the quality of the vinyl from new did not match that of the packaging. The vinyl is generally crackle free but there are a couple of clicks in the first tracks on both sides. The rest of side 2 is excellent and the rest of side 1 plays through without sticks or jumps. There is a noticeable lateral movement of the cartridge as it tracks the groove on side 1 (though it is not warped). There are no clicks, sticks or jumps with the 7” single which has only ever been played a couple of times.
POSTAGE AND PACKAGING The record will be packed in a record mailer with stiffener and posted 2nd class. I remove all records from outer and printed inner sleeves before packing to avoid damage to covers during transit. All vinyl is dispatched in polythene sleeves. This is one of several albums I am selling from my personal collection (see my other listings). I am not a dealer but have been buying records for over 40 years and have decided to begin ‘downsizing’ my collection. I will be listing many more records over the coming months, dating from the 1960s to the present day.
