Artist: LEMON TREE

Title: "It's So Nice To Come Home" 45 (Original 1968 UK Parlophone Records 7"Mono Single ~ R 5739)

Format:  7"vinyl single - Up for grabs here is a Rare Original 1968 UK Parlophone label Lemon Tree 7"single "It's So Nice To Come Home" c/w "Come On Girl". The record is in excellent condition and comes housed in it's groovy original Parlophone label 'swirl' design company sleeve. On offer here, from my own collection,is an original UK Parlophone records 1st edition pressing of the rarely seen 2nd (of two) Lemon Tree 7"single "It's So Nice To Come Home" c/w "Come On Girl" .

LEMON TREE were ; Derek Arnold (Bass) Mike Hopkins (Guitar) Keith Smart (Drums) Mick Taylor (Vocals) and Gary Wortley (Organ)

A short lived late 60's Birmingham beat / pop-sike group whose two singles are now highly collectable. On offer here we have an excellent condition copy of the 2nd and rarer of the two singles,"It's So Nice To Come Home" ,a great slice of 60's pop-sike very similar in style to fellow Birmingham band Idle Race singles. The record was  produced by Amen Corners Andy Fairweather-Low.

Keith Smart had earlier been with Danny King and the Mayfair Set with Trevor Burton and Mike Hopkins had joined Denny (Laine) and the Diplomats. Hopkins was in the latter days of Idle Race,Gary Wortley moved to Canada and Keith Smart was later in legendary Birmingham area bands the Uglys, Balls, Wizard and Mongrel.

This very scarce LEMON TREE single would be a great addition to any UK 60's Pop-Sike,Brum beat or Move / Idle Race collection.

Comments: Rare original 1968 UK Parlophone records 1st pressing of the rarely seen 2nd single by 1960's Birmingham legends the LEMON TREE . A lovely copy of  this much sought-after 45.....as you may know there is some heavy Idle Race / Move / Birmingham area involvement here. This single was pressed in very small numbers and is now highly prized by 60's singles collectors, rarely being offered for sale these days.A great 45 for Brum beat collectors, Idle Race / Move completists or 1960's British pop-sike fans.
