Description
For sale is this very scarce vintage vinyl LP of THE LAST POETS - THIS IS MADNESS on Douglas Records 1971. I believe this copy is the early 1970's UK 1st Stereo Pressing of this seminal Jazz / Proto Hip-Hop album but such is its rarity that information on resources like discogs is incomplete and I haven't been able to verify it. It has a lavish gatefold sleeve, original red inner sleeve, red labels and A1/B1 matrices. The catalogue number is DOUGLAS DGL 69012. The matrices in full are:

Condition*: The sleeve is graded EX. There is almost no wear to the surfaces and very light wear only to the corners edges and spine. The original red inner is immaculate. Overall a really pristine sleeve that is close to near mint.
The disc is EX. It shows few signs of having been played. The surface is lustrous and dark. Under harsh light there are very few marks of any kind. On side to there is one long very light scratch that doesn't penetrate into the grooves and cannot be heard at all. The record has been played through from start to finish and plays faultlessly with almost no surface or crackle. Overall a really stunning copy of this fantastic record.

I can only give an honest appraisal based on careful visual inspection and thorough play testing. I do try to describe all significant faults and where possible photograph them and I certainly won't intentionally hide anything. Please read the description carefully, look at the pictures and make your own mind up. The grading scale I have used goes from G to NM with VG+ as par. In other words: Good (G), Very Good (VG), Very Good+ (VG+), Excellent (EX) and Near Mint (NM). Anything better than that would be Mint and would be listed as new. Anything worse than Good I probably wouldn't be selling.
