Description
The Last Resort / Combat 84 - Death Or Glory Split LP. 1987 Pressing. Link Records. Oi! Punk Oi Streetpunk. Condition is Used. Shipped with USPS Media Mail.
There were apparently 2 pressings of this record released by Link Records in 1987. The only difference appears to be the color of the label on the disc. I'm not sure which was first, or if they are both considered 1st pressing or not. This one has blue labels and was definitely released in 1987. Step 1 did a reissue about a decade later and other labels did further reissues even more recently.
- Run-out groove (Side A): ? LINK LP 017 A-I ? A Porky Prime Cut. MT.
- Run-out groove (Side B): ? LINK LP 017 B-I ? MT.
This record looks like it is in good shape for the most part, but there are a handful of Light scratches and smudges on each side. Most look insignificant and probably won't affect play much, however, there is one short scratch that looks significantly deeper. It is on the second song on side A and covesr 3 quarters of the song. There will likely be some pops and clicks on that song, at the very least. I'm not sure if it is bad enough to cause a skip. Unless your needle is light I would say probably not, but I don't know. Apart from that one, the scratches I see are unlikely to affect the sound much. There may be a few audible pops and clicks here and there, mostly noticeable between songs. I will rate it G+++ because of that small scratch, but if not for that it would rate better.
No insert was included with this release.
The cover has a bit of wear but still looks quite respectable. There is Very Light ring wear visible on front and back, but just barely. The bottom left corner got bent slightly and it created a faint, but kind of long (4 inchs) vein at that corner. There are also the usual short, faint veins near the left and top edges but they are far fewer than I am used to seeing. There are a few vague scratches in the varnish that can be seen only if you look at the cover from the right angle. They are few, faint, and actually not that noticeable. There is a dent in one corner of the cover but it is not much bigger than a pencil point. The 4 corner tips have Moderate wear but it is just at the tips and is a pretty minor blemish. The Spine edge has Moderate wear leaning towards Light, but most of the title text is intact. There is a one inch or so section of Severe wear on that edge where the varnished outer paper has worn right through to the raw cardboard underneath, (See pictures) but as I said, it is less than an inch in length, and the rest of that edge is pretty good. Over all this cover still looks pretty good despite the bit of wear. G+++
Grades that I use are G-, G, G+, G++, G+++, VG, VG+, VG++, VG+++/EX, NM. I won't be describing anything as M or MINT unless it is unopened and the packaging is completely unblemished. Records that have never been played but HAVE been opened, will be described as Near Mint or NM. These are the adjectives that I use when describing damage: Very Light, Light, Moderate, Severe, Catastrophic. To describe damage in between those ranks I say things like: "Moderate leaning towards Severe," "Moderate leaning towards light," or "In between Light and Moderate"...just for example.
