Description
"Led by singer Fred Cole, who had formerly been in the Northwest punk band the Weeds, the Lollipop Shoppe's sole album (from 1968) ranks as one of the better psych-punk LPs, and also as one of the better one-shot rock records of the late '60s. Featuring Cole's choked, bitter phrasing, the group staked out the middle ground between the Seeds (who shared the same manager) and Love, with a bit of fellow L.A. psych-punkers the Music Machine thrown in. If comparisons must be made, they were definitely closer in tone to Love than the Seeds, with a mixture of raunch and reflection in the spirit of Arthur Lee. Cole was one of the few psychedelic performers to make a contribution during the punk era"...............
The Lollipop Shoppe 45rpm record and picture sleeve: You Must Be A Witch b/w Don't Close The Door. The sleeve is in M- condition, the record is in VG++ condition. Both come in a plastic sleeve.
Grading: Please note: My visual grading standard is conservative. I will seldom use 'mint' condition to describe a record and sleeve because there are very few around that meet this condition. This grade means PERFECT, BRAND NEW.
Most often I will use 'mint minus' or 'very good plus' conditions. Mint minus (near mint) means a record that is otherwise mint but has one or two very small flaws on the record or cover.
Very Good Plus (excellent) condition means the record has been played or handled infrequently or very carefully. There may be some loss of lustre on the cover and maybe a light scratch on the record, but will not affect play.
Very Good (VG) condition means will display noticeable signs of playing and handling which resulted in loss of vinyl luster, light surface scratches and groove wear. An owner who cared for records will have owned this record/cover. Not acceptable are tears, food stains, serious scratches and signs of abuse.
Unless a record/cover is unusually rare I probably won't have any items on eBay in less than VG condition.
Shipping and handling: I use U.S.P.S. first class mail. I will ship one or two 45's for $2.00. Three or four 45's are heavier: $3.25. I will give the best S&H price to bidders who have multiple high bids but bulk bidders must complete bidding in three days to assemble a package. Delivery confirmation is .55 more and insurance for $50.00 is $1.30 more. All records are shipped securely to guard against breakage. All bids are shipped asap, usually within 24 hours, except Sundays. International bidders: Please inquire about S&H to your country.
Please don't bid unless your serious about completing your agreement. Payment is due asap upon notice of high bid. BidPay, cash, money order and PayPal are all acceptable means of payment. A personal check will really slow down delivery to you.
Good luck bidding! MikeBest way to Win: To maximize your chance of winning this auction, enter your Maximum Bid (the highest amount that you are willing to pay), and eBay will automatically bid the lowest bid amount that you need to win at a given time.
