Description

The Loved Ones one and only album for 20 years until the release of 'Live on Blueberry hill' in 1987. Featuring the somewhat eccentric Gerry Humphrys as vocalist this band had a sound all of its own with three great singles 'The Loved One' - 'Sad Dark Eyes' - and 'Ever Lovin' Man' coming from this album. The 'Loved One' was voted sixth most important Australian song in 2001 by APRA.
Sadly this great band was together for just two years but I did see them several times and what a blast it was when the opening chords of the 'Loved One' drowned out all other noise in the venue such as the Kew Town Hall, other wise known a Q-Club.
Great memories.
But as to the record - bought new it has been stored away in its sleeve and a clear vinyl outer sleeve for the better part of 50 years - my favourite tracks having been transferred to cassette for listening on the go. Visually it is EXCELLENT but there are surface noises as in all mass market recordings. After reading another listing for this album I am pretty sure both the record and its sleeve can be regarded as Like New.
But hey if you remember this great and very different sound here it is on vinyl in STEREO and at a price you can determine for yourself.
