Every album from every one of Stephin Merritt's various projects is a conceptual exercise of one form or another. But the Magnetic Fields' 1999 triple album 69 Love Songs is by far the grandest, most ambitious, and most beloved of the lot. 69 Love Songs sprawled out over three CDs, each crammed with as many different stylistic and lyrical tropes as Merritt could manage-- which was a lot. And people feel strongly about these things; at least one Pitchfork contributor walked down the aisle to "The Book of Love".

 

On April 20, Merge will reissue 69 Love Songs as a deluxe vinyl box set. The limited edition box will include remastered versions of all 69 songs spread out over six 10" platters, all housed in a massive box that'll include a 10" version of the original booklet that came with the triple-CD set.


Out of print, limited to only 3,000 copies worldwide.

 

This is in like new condition.  The shrink has been removed but the records have not been played.  The only blemish is the bottom left corner of the box has been removed.  Please see pictures.
